Are You Ready To Sit At The KABISERA?

The center chair of a table which we call Kabisera` has been a symbolic seat of power at home. The 'head of the house" usually enjoys the view as he or she watches the banter of the whole family while sharing food and happy stories Fate could however throw uncertainties. A happy dining could just end up a long memory from the past. Honor, trust and loyalty are some of the values that are tested with this newest MMFF entry as it exposes imperfections that reign the lives of the Filipinos today. and how in the end we all stand up for what's right and what s more important to us.

'Ang pamilya ang pinakaimportanteng kayarnanan na mayroon ang Pilipino. Sa bagong hakbang ng MMFF rigayon na magbigay ng twit na makabuluhang pelikula sa inclustrya, naisip namin bait tayo gumawa ng storyang malapit talaga sa puso ng bawat Pinoy. Were talking about value and and what's more valuable for us Pinoys than the family?" said Director Real Florido when asked why they chose this plot for their first Metro Manila Film Festival project Inspired by a true story.

Get To Know The Jazz-Rock Band 'LET GRAVITY'

Five friends and seasoned musicians  ‘LET GRAVITY’ take its natural course;  drawing all of them together through their synergetic love for music.  This unexplainable force propelled them to  jam,  collaborate and write songs,  play at gigs, and record a number of tracks that are enough to comprise a full album.

Members of LET GRAVITY ‘s musical paths have crossed some time ago, as school mates, ex-band mates, work colleagues, or through common friends.  Yet they have initially gone on separate journeys.   Guitarist Sam Santos, the band’s guitarist, is a professional songwriter who composed the teleserye theme song “Alipin”, and a host of other telenovela themes.  His brother, bassist Donne Santos, was the founding member of indie-band ‘Goodbye Tracy’, and is a former member of Ramchavesband-formerly Sutil.  Acoustic and electric fingerstyle guitarist, Rigil Borromeo and drummer Alden Acosta were UST schoolmates, ex-members of the band “happydaysahead”; the latter was also a former member of pop-rock outfit “Callalily”.  The newest member of the band is lead vocalist Ram Chaves, who once had his own band called ‘Ramchavesband’ and formerly a runner up in the GMA 7 Pinoy Idol season 1 competition.

Let Gravity’s soon-to-be-released album features carrier single / album title track “Defy”.  This single charted on OPM MYX and  Monster radio RX 93.1 It reached the TOP 10 charts for several weeks – a clear testimonial to the quality of music that LET GRAVITY produces and brought the band   to the attention of major record labels.  In addition, their latest music video for “With A Kiss” is now airing on MYX, Net 25.  It can also be viewed on on Youtube (Let Gravity channel).  Sometime in July, Let Gravity will release the music video for “Alamat”.  This track is the movie theme song of the biopic Hermano Puli, directed by veteran filmmaker Gil Portez, with Aljur Abrenica in the title role. a historical film under T-Rex Entertainment which will be showing in Cinemas in September.

Their album, as a whole, is a compilation of very beautiful and inspiring music.  When played live, the audience applauds them with gusto and they clamour for more.  Their music is very moving and several songs are already being eyed by a major network to be used as theme songs for their upcoming shows.

Man and music are naturally attracted and bound by a natural force that could be parallel to Sir Isaac Newton’s universal theory.  It is not forced nor contrived.  So when you hear melodic strains that hit your heart and soul, go with the flow, let go, and LET GRAVITY take you to a world of musical possibilities and good vibrations.

LET GRAVITY’s new album entitled “Defy” is now available on Spotify, Amazon, Deezer and Itunes. CDS available soon in Odyssey Music Store nationwide. Digitally distributed by Star Music.  Follow Let Gravity on their social media accounts:

The Bootleg Beatles are back in Manila!

Since their inception in 1980 the band has performed hundreds of gigs across the globe, earning themselves an amazing reputation along the way. George Martin himself described the Bootleg Beatles experience as “A terrific show”, whilst the Mail On Sunday hailed their “Mind- boggling accuracy”.

Neil Harrison (former John Lennon); Andre Barreau (George Harrison) and David Catlin-Birch (Paul McCartney) met in 1979 when they were all cast in the hit West-End production, Beatlemania. When the show finished its run the band, knowing the repertoire inside out, decided to continue performing it and thus The Bootleg Beatles were born in 1980, along with the entire tribute genre.

What started as 4 musicians with black polo necks and a wig has evolved into The Bootleg Beatles’ lauded show which combines note-perfect renditions of Beatles repertoire, spectacular costume changes and a visually stunning video backdrop. The Bootleg Beatles faithfully re-create 6 phases of the Beatles meteororic rise from a basement (The cavern in Liverpool) to a rooftop (The famous Apple concert in 1969) via Shea Stadium, Sgt Pepper and the Magical mystery tour.

DZMM Anchors Zero In On Election-Preparedness In "Handa Ka Na Ba Forum"

With the series of presidential debates done and with less than two weeks to go before the May 9 elections, DZMM is shifting the spotlight from the candidates and voters to the people, poll body and other government stakeholders who can ensure the success of the national polls.

Last Wednesday (April 27), the leading AM radio station in Mega Manila and the nation's number 1 cable news and commentary channel will focus on the election-preparedness of the nation through the “DZMM Handa Ka Na Ba? Para Ipanalo ang Pamilyang Pilipino!” Halalan forum to be moderated by multi-awarded broadcast journalists Anthony Taberna, Gerry Baja, Vic De Leon Lima, and Karen Davila.

The four will take turns in probing the key people in organizing the elections, and maintaining peace and order in the entire election season – the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the Philippine National Police, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, PPCRV, Smartmatic and also the Department of Energy.

Comelec chairman Andres Bautista will lead the speakers who will answer questions on how ready we are for the things that can transpire in the elections such as malfunction of machines, brownouts, or even safety and peace and order. Different election watchdogs, teachers group, students and families will also attend and participate in the event.

DZMM was the first to complete interviews on all presidential and vice presidential candidates through Ikaw Na Ba? Para Ipanalo ang Pamilyang Pilipino. It also held the first “DZMM Pasado? Election Forum,” which analyzed the strategies of political candidates in wooing voters and also the voting preferences of Filipinos. Anchored by Ted Failon, the forum aimed to help guide voters in choosing the candidates they will support.

dIYOS-DIYOSAn Hopes To Inspire and Enlighten Pinoy Voters

With the election campaign season nearing its homestretch, it would be safe to assume that Filipino voters have become more enlightened regarding their choices for the country’s next set of leaders.

But have we really learned our lessons well?

With all the grandstanding, mudslinging and furious bashing on social media, majority believe that they have made the right choices based on reason and logic. Spouting facts and figures, many believe that choosing is merely a numbers game, with the likely victor amassing the most number of points based on rationalization and intellectualization alone.

But how many have relied on their moral compasses to guide them? Is this not as valid a criterion for making the right choice?

Juan TV Reviews: Dolce Amore (ABS-CBN)

The story revolves on the backstory (yes, another origin plot, but we still watch them right?) of Serena (Liza) who was separated from her parent because of war. She was adopted by a rich Italian family. Enrique is Tenten who is a orphan kid who grows up to be the "jack-of-all-trades" guy to be a good provider. The two will meet in an unusual moment, and from there the magic happens.
