HOOQ presents the celebrity premiere of “Seklusyon”

HOOQ, Asia’s largest video-on-demand service, and co-presenter of the 42nd Metro Manila Film Festival, concludes 2016 with a special HOOQ HANGOUTS as it holds a celebrity-studded premiere of Erik Matti’s SEKLUSYON days before it’s regular run at theaters throughout the country as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival.

“We started HOOQ HANGOUTS a few months ago to provide a forum to showcase the vast library of HOOQ, particularly our local content which spans almost five decades. That is why we are ending the year with this HOOQ HANGOUTS featuring an exclusive screening of Seklusyon, produced by Reality Entertainment, which incidentally is also our partner in creating OTJ: The Series,” says Jane Cruz-Walker, HOOQ Philippines Country Manager.

Five Decades of The Best Filipino Movie Available On HOOQ

With close to 1,200 Filipino movies spanning almost five decades and over 4,000 hours of local television, HOOQ leaves the competition way behind when it comes to its rich catalog of local content. This was the highlight of the second HOOQ HANGOUTS, the biggest outdoor cinema event series held September 23, 2016 at the Globe Iconic Store in Bonifacio Global City.

In July, HOOQ HANGOUTS made a successful debut as hundreds of superhero and comic book fans gathered for an evening of fun and surprises and to watch a triple episode preview of DC Legends of Tomorrow—a HOOQ exclusive TV Series.

Enjoy award-winning Filipino movies on HOOQ

HOOQ, Asia’s largest video-on-demand service, was the recent exclusive presenter of the 41st Metro Manila Film Festival and its New Wave category. Together with MMFF, they both answered the call of entertainment buffs who enjoy watching their favorite films and TV shows wherever and whenever they want; through streaming and downloading of award-winning and quality locally-produced films.

Since 2010, the New Wave category has given independent filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their work and the chance to have more funding for future film projects.  This year, aside from the animated and short film entries being shown in cinemas, they were also released through the HOOQ app. It was the first time in the history of MMFF that entries were shown simultaneously online and in theaters.
