Two Friends and MOD SUN Drop Pop-Punk Perfection with “Timebomb”

The song is their second single of 2022, with an accompanying lyric video

Two Friends team up with MOD SUN on their latest release, “Timebomb,” a sunny song about the highs and lows of summer love. Out July 1st via Helix Records, the song draws inspiration from the pop-punk sounds of our youth, with MOD SUN’s playful lyrics painting a picture of romance that’s as explosive as it is exciting.

MOD SUN connected easily with the duo, explaining that “there's something special about the authenticity of Two Friends. They are clearly doing what they love + almost more importantly to me at least, being themselves. I love this song and had an amazing time making it with them. I got to leave my comfort zone of some of the vocal parts and in turn actually learned some new skills while creating it.”

Kindness in the chaos: Daniels talk about the core of "Everything Everywhere All At Once"

Everything Everywhere All At Once" is now showing in over 80 cinemas in the Philippines

These days, filmmaker Daniel Kwan says, much of art is broadly struggling to confront two things: “One is this feeling of everything happening all at once—how can you put that in a story in a way that is meaningful? And the other is climate change.”

"Everything Everywhere All At Once" is most obviously Daniels' attempt at trying to encapsulate the first part, but you can sense the latter lurking in the background as well. Of course, in Daniels' language, if climate dread is an inspiration, it takes on a decidedly different look: in Jobu's (Stephanie Hsu) evil plan, everything bagel-void threatens to swallow the multiverse and destroy us all. “This project came out of our own anxieties about living in the modern world, and I think everyone I know is trying to capture that,” Kwan says.

The feeling was already there when they were writing it in 2016, before the Trump Era and the pandemic. “We already felt overwhelmed. And, and as we were writing it, we were like, ‘Oh my God, what is happening? It's getting worse—how could it possibly get worse than this?’” Kwan says. “Everyone is trying to process that feeling, the backdrop of doom, the backdrop of chaos.”

Tove Releases New Single ‘TRUE ROMANCE’

Multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY® Award nominated artist Tove Lo released yet another irresistible earworm titled ‘True Romance,’ along with the news of a forthcoming fifth studio album DIRT FEMME to be released on October 14 (Pretty Swede Records / mtheory). The album tracklist, which was also unveiled today, boasts an impressive lineup of special guests, including SG Lewis (appearing on two tracks), Channel Tres and First Aid Kit.

Pre-order/add/save DIRT FEMME HERE.

Speaking on her highly anticipated forthcoming full-length, the Swedish superstar shared: “Dirt Femme is about me and my relationship with my femininity. When I started out as a writer and an artist, I used to view my feminine traits as weaker and would enhance my masculine traits to get ahead in life. I feel a big energy shift in my environment since then and this album reflects the various ways my feminine side has both helped and hurt me.” She continues “I’m a pansexual woman married to a straight man. I believe masculine and feminine lives on a spectrum in all humans. There are so many more interesting nuances than most people want to accept. Songs on this album will contradict each other, will probably upset some of you, will make you want to dance, cry, fuck and drive your car really, really, fast. It’s extremely personal as always which is why it’s so hard to describe in just a few words. It’s all my feelings, thoughts and questions put together in under 50 minutes with no answers. But I know that I always feel relief and connection when a song just speaks to my emotions without telling me what to do about them. I hope this album reaches that little secret pocket in your heart where all the real stuff is hiding.”
