DZMM Anchors Zero In On Election-Preparedness In "Handa Ka Na Ba Forum"

With the series of presidential debates done and with less than two weeks to go before the May 9 elections, DZMM is shifting the spotlight from the candidates and voters to the people, poll body and other government stakeholders who can ensure the success of the national polls.

Last Wednesday (April 27), the leading AM radio station in Mega Manila and the nation's number 1 cable news and commentary channel will focus on the election-preparedness of the nation through the “DZMM Handa Ka Na Ba? Para Ipanalo ang Pamilyang Pilipino!” Halalan forum to be moderated by multi-awarded broadcast journalists Anthony Taberna, Gerry Baja, Vic De Leon Lima, and Karen Davila.

The four will take turns in probing the key people in organizing the elections, and maintaining peace and order in the entire election season – the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the Philippine National Police, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, PPCRV, Smartmatic and also the Department of Energy.

Comelec chairman Andres Bautista will lead the speakers who will answer questions on how ready we are for the things that can transpire in the elections such as malfunction of machines, brownouts, or even safety and peace and order. Different election watchdogs, teachers group, students and families will also attend and participate in the event.

There will also be a demonstration on how to use the vote counting machine (VCM) that will be conducted by a real Filipino family who are voting together in the coming elections.

The “Handa KNB” forum is the third in a series of offerings of DZMM that’s in line with ABS-CBN’s “Halalan 2016: Ipanalo ang Pamilyang Pilipino” election campaign. DZMM was the first to complete interviews on all presidential and vice presidential candidates through Ikaw Na Ba? Para Ipanalo ang Pamilyang Pilipino. It also held the first “DZMM Pasado? Election Forum,” which analyzed the strategies of political candidates in wooing voters and also the voting preferences of Filipinos. Anchored by Ted Failon, the forum aimed to help guide voters in choosing the candidates they will support.

The “DZMM Handa Ka Na Ba” forum will be held at 4:30pm at the Dolphy Theater inside the ABS-CBN compound and will be aired live over DZMM 630 on AM radio and DZMM TeleRadyo on cable television and digital television (ABS-CBN TVplus). It can also be heard via audio streaming at www.dzmm.com.ph. Be part of the conversation by using the hashtag #DZMMHandaKNB.
