NOVOCRANE’s "Safe and Sound" Captures the Beauty and Weight of Emotional Solitude

NOVOCRANE, the indie rock project of Kylene Sevillano, returns with Safe and Sound, an introspective anthem that wrestles with the paradox of emotional isolation—where solitude can feel like both a sanctuary and a prison. Built on fuzzy guitars, washed-out melodies, and a raw, unfiltered edge, NOVOCRANE thrives in the space between nostalgia and noise, distilling deeply personal emotions into a sound that feels both distant and familiar.

Rooted in the grit of ‘90s indie rock, interwoven with oscillating shoegaze textures and lush dream pop, Safe and Sound captures the push-and-pull of self-imposed solitude. The song’s verses float in a dazed detachment, only to swell into a cathartic chorus—walls of sound crashing like waves, echoing the realization that shutting the world out can be just as confining as it is protective.

“In Safe and Sound, I wanted to portray that feeling of isolation as a form of freedom,” says Sevillano. “But over time, you realize that it’s okay to want connection, to seek someone to share your life with.”

Ace Banzuelo explores the hopeful, more meaningful side of love in “Kilala”

The track sets the tone for his new era in music

Ace Banzuelo examines the beauty of fleeting yet profound connections in his new single “Kilala,” released under Sony Music Entertainment.

A dreamy, melancholic pop track, “Kilala” revels in romantic longing: those heart-fluttering moments that often escape definition. In Ace’s universe, love doesn’t always require shout-from-the-rooftops kind of admission or grand declarations. Sometimes, it lingers in the quiet, unscripted moments that leave imprint long after they pass.

“You may not realize it, but it could be love,” he adds. “This song is about not wanting to lose someone you know you have a great connection with. A lot of people can relate to this.”

SOS Memorializes Maturity In Highly Anticipated Sophomore Album, ‘It Was A Moment’

The second full-length album sees the band’s contemplative departure from the coming-of-age ‘Whatever That Was’ era

The highly anticipated sophomore album of SOS, It Was A Moment, is finally here.

Following the release of the carrier single, “Yumi & The Apocalypse” earlier this month, SOS’s latest 11-track project is characterized by the band as a complete departure from their beloved debut album, Whatever That Was, released in 2017. Whereas its predecessor is more reactive and immediate, It Was A Moment is lighter and less fussy in many ways, removing the proverbial chip on the shoulder. Technically, it’s as exacting as one can expect from the group—more sonically expansive and experimental, primarily thanks to the beautifully added sheen of synths and keys to classic SOS anthemic guitars—but thematically, It Was A Moment sees members Seña, Andrew, Anjo, King, and Ram become more deliberate spectators of others as much as themselves (“employing the ‘art of noticing,’” Seña remarks) while keeping the interior feel and unfading anxieties of Whatever That Was.

The FEU Dance Company takes center stage on March 28 and 29 for their major concert entitled “FRAMES: Elevating the Unseen.”

Following the recent success of the FEU Dance Company (FDC) in World of Dance Philippines 2025 where they placed 2nd and won both the Best Costume and Best Theme categories, the FDC stages their annual major concert in the historic FEU Auditorium at 6 PM on March 28 & 29.

Using the backdrop of Philippine folk dances and an open style segment choreographed by the FDC’s members and artistic director, Michael Barry Que, FRAMES: Elevating the Unseen presents a collection of stories of FEU’s “unseen” community — the individuals who contribute to the University in one way or another yet remain in the background.

A frame highlights an image, draws attention to its details, and emphasizes its significance. In the concert, frames symbolize the windows through which we witness the narratives of the unseen — those whose efforts remain unrecognized yet are essential to our school’s smooth operations. Through frames, the audience is offered a structured yet intimate view into these stories. More than just a visual element, frames also highlight each performance as a captured moment, a snapshot of truth presented piece by piece, much like a moving gallery of untold experiences. Through this concert, the pieces do not just tell stories; they are curated and framed, allowing them to be seen in their full depth and humanity.

Ramdiss Releases New Rap Track “Anino”

Ramdiss comes through with his latest single, "Anino," an intense rap song about friendship, envy, and life’s divergent paths. The song tells the story of two friends who grow up together, only to find themselves on vastly different trajectories. While one friend enjoys a life filled with success, winning the girl of their dreams, traveling abroad, and achieving financial stability, the other grapples with feelings of inadequacy and envy, feeling like a mere shadow in his friend’s spotlight.

Ramdiss’ lyrical prowess shines through in "Anino," as he crafts a vivid story that draws listeners in with its hypnotizing flow. His ability to build tension and create a compelling climax keeps the audience engaged, making them eager to discover how the story unfolds. The song’s unerringly real theme is a reminder to everyone who has ever felt overshadowed or envious of a friend’s success — that envy is a deadly sin for a reason.

“Anino” by Ramdiss featuring Hero, released under Universal Records Philippines, is now available on all streaming platforms.

SOS Shows Grace in Endings with ‘Yumi & The Apocalypse’ Ahead of Sophomore Album

The band weaves in old, familiar sounds with new, experimental styles in the lead-up to their second LP, ‘It Was A Moment’

Indie alternative band SOS reflects on endings in their new single, “Yumi & The Apocalypse,” the carrier single of their forthcoming sophomore album, It Was A Moment, out on March 28th.

Blending old, familiar sounds with new, experimental production, “Yumi & The Apocalypse” hones in on SOS’s strong storytelling, often centered on personal and serving as an avatar of collective experiences, delicately balancing their tendency towards cynicism (or, “a stroke of sadness,” as they describe it) with a more mellowed maturity. While the song is about a breakup, “Yumi” tells it with more grace. As the band puts it, “It’s with less spite and more acceptance.”
