Get ready to fall in love with Slico’s first-ever single! The viral TikToker, known for his captivating song covers and engaging singing content, has officially dropped his highly anticipated debut song “Bagkos” — a perfect showcase of his talent.

Slico’s light, clear vocals bring genuine emotion to lyrics about love. Take the line, “Init ng mga haplos mo'y nagpahiwatig na tayong dalawa ay nakabagkos, tayo’y nagkabagkos,” which highlights his ability to express deep feelings with simplicity.

The term “nagkabagkos” is a creative twist by the songwriter. Though it’s not a formal word, it feels familiar, echoing “nagkabigkis” (bound together) while also hinting at “bagkos” (but, rather). This blend captures both closeness and contradiction — the sweetness of being tied to someone and the bittersweet ache of knowing it may only exist in memory.

“Rehab” is Shanti Dope’s Most Personal And Courageous Work Yet

Filipino hip-hop sensation Shanti Dope delivers his most personal and courageous work yet with his new single "Rehab,” a track that chronicles his battle with addiction, the road to recovery, and the power of love as a driving force for change.

The song is an unfiltered confession, a mirror of Shanti Dope’s own battles with substance abuse, peer pressure, and his experience on the dark side of fame. What began as experimentation with an illegal substance led to a troubled path, forcing him to confront his demons and seek rehabilitation for the sake of those he loves most—his partner, his son, and his family. In a heartfelt verse, Shanti raps: Sabik na kong gawin yung halikan ka pagkagaling ng rehab. Hindi sapat sa akin na ika’y yakapin lang. Yung tamang panahon ay darating din basta kapit lang.

"Rehab" boldly challenges the shame often associated with recovering from substance abuse–Shanti presents rehabilitation as an act of strength—proof that fighting for a better life requires strength and courage. The song is for anyone who struggles with addiction and their inner demons. His reminder that you are not alone, that asking for help is not a weakness, and that change is possible. If you keep holding on, the right moment will come. As Shanti said in the song, Yung tamang panahon ay darating basta kapit lang.

Filipino-Ghanian artist Jewel Owusu has dropped the music video for “spark.”

A visual companion set in the haze of a late-night club, the MV follows Jewel Owusu navigating the crowded dance floor, barely keeping up with the frenetic energy and the people around her.

According to Owusu, the video evokes the sensory experience of being in a club but completely alienated from its lively, bustling vibe. “It’s one of those nights where you show up, but you’re not actually having a good time. You’re caught in your own head while everyone else around you is on a completely different wavelength. It feels as if you are moving through space in an alternate reality.

I noticed how much I was saying Oh my god yeah you’re so right! And I thought it was so nice to see how validating these conversations with my girlfriends are, how much I’m learning in these chats. I think I’ve been trying to figure out a lot of things, like getting older. I feel it’s really been a strange time of thinking about appearance. And these are things you hash out with your girlfriends and suddenly you don’t feel so shit about them again. I just felt like there deserved to be a song about that.”

There’s something sweet about being naughty. And it’s actually helped me to get in touch with more tender vulnerable parts of myself. So Earthly Delights is taking in the pleasures of what I always thought would keep me out of heaven. For the belief I always had of the hell and unhappiness I would experience for giving into my “carnal nature” of sexuality, which is the natural instinct of humans and even what leads to the source of life itself, here’s to a big F you to my old fears and embracing the sensual side and “earthly delights” of how good and rich it feels. It really is the source to life.”

XYVRL Sings About One-Sided Relationships in “HOTNCOLD”

XYVRL has officially released her latest single "HOTNCOLD" on June 27, 2025. This marks her second release of the year, following the success of her previous track, "LILAGIRL."

“HOTNCOLD” is a chill, pop, soul, and RnB track that talks about the struggles of an unfair relationship. The song addresses the feelings of giving your all to a partner who does not reciprocate, and XYVRL's lyrics convey this sentiment clearly: “You don’t deserve me. Binigay ko sa’yo ang lahat when you were thirsty. I was there for you pero baby wala ka for me. So tell me sino ba ang totoo sa atin?"

The title “HOTNCOLD” effectively captures the conflicting emotions of warmth and closeness with your partner, while still having a cold, distant divide in the relationship. While the song has a laidback and easy-to-listen-to vibe, the lyrics carry a heavier message that encourages listeners to immerse themselves in the deeper meaning behind the music. "Mainit, mainit, mainit, mainit, pag kay katabi. Pero kahit magkadikit ay laging malamig ang ating gabi."

In a surprise appearance, XYVRL performed “HOTNCOLD” at the “Find Your Kislap” single launch event of fellow Universal Records artist last June 26 at 225 Bar in Quezon City. Fans who witnessed XYVRL’s performance of the song didn’t have to wait too long to hear the official track since since it was released the next day. “HOTNCOLD” is now available on all major streaming platforms, with an interesting lyric video on the YouTube account of Universal Records.

ena mori captures the sound of childlike wonder in new EP, rOe

In her latest 6-track release, the global pop experimentalist confronts selfhood with poetic vulnerability and daring sonic choices

As a global pop figure with an incredible sense of sonic adventurism, ena mori continues to forge a path that defies industry expectations. Her unapologetic individuality and fearless experimentation have set her apart from her contemporaries, especially in a landscape often defined by formula.

On her latest EP, rOe, the acclaimed singer-songwriter/producer steps away from the explosive energy of her full-length debut album, DON’T BLAME THE WILD ONE!, and instead offers a body of work that is as introspective as it is sophisticated. A coming-of-age project but not in a traditional sense, the 6-track release navigates the emotional whiplash of entering your twenties with one foot still planted in childhood. To sum it up, it’s about the paradox of forward motion while feeling stuck.

Rico Blanco bids a beautiful goodbye in new song “Paalam”

A song spanning many years to complete, finally makes its moment

Following the renewed success of his solo catalog—particularly “Your Universe,” which recently broke into Spotify Philippines’ Top 10—Rico Blanco returns with “Paalam,” a hauntingly spare but exquisitely crafted ballad that captures the enduring imprint of goodbyes in all its bittersweet and hopeful glory.

Equal parts love song and meditation on loss, “Paalam” contemplates the emotional weight of parting, whether from a person, a chapter, a place, or a former self. In Blanco’s hands, goodbye becomes not only an act of release and reawakening, but also a gift that offers clarity, grounding, and ultimately, healing.

“Out of all the songs I’ve released, Paalam is the song that took me the longest to finish,” the multi-awarded music hyphenate admits. “Some songs I finish in minutes, days, or weeks, but this one has been a work in progress for many, many years.”

Tame Impala returns with “End of Summer”

First release on new label home Columbia Records

Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) returns with the release of “End of Summer,” his first recording for new label Columbia Records. The song marks a new dawn for Tame Impala, as Parker once again expands the parameters of the project further into realms unexplored. Drawing from the deep, rich history of dance music, “End Of Summer” recasts Tame Impala as a kind of future primitive rave act. The track harkens back to the acid house summer of ’89, to free parties of the mid-90s, to bush doofs in outback paddocks - to an imagined history, transmuted into something simultaneously present and eternal, still unmistakably Tame Impala. The thrill of spontaneous studio experimentation that has marked Tame Impala recordings since the beginning is more evident than ever, Parker’s mastery of his craft imprinting the track with an array of brain-bending, subtly manipulative sparkle.

We Are Imaginary reflects on toxic relationships in dreamy new track “Stockholm”

The latest single showcases the band’s more introspective and pensive side

Filipino indie rock outfit We Are Imaginary are back with “Stockholm,” the latest single from their forthcoming self-titled album, set to be released on vinyl under Eikon Records in mid-2025.

Exploring themes of emotional entanglement and vulnerability, “Stockholm” is a gripping meditation on toxic attachment disguised as love. The track marks a pivotal moment for frontman and guitarist Ahmad Tanji, who channels years of disquietude into one of the band’s most sonically and lyrically captivating releases to date.

The song opens with the Nietzsche-inspired line, “Staring at the abyss / staring back at me,” which immediately sets the tone for introspection. As the track unfolds, lyrics like “So used with bad directions / I’m following no leads” imply how the protagonist continues to spiral out of existential dread, losing the will to continue fighting—only to be pulled back by the subtle, grounding sound.
