The Kid LAROI shares new single & music video, Aperol Spritz

https://www.thewholeworldswatching.life/

Continuing a prolific creative season, GRAMMY® nominated, multi-platinum chart-topping global superstar The Kid LAROI serves up an intoxicating and irresistible new single and music video entitled “APEROL SPRITZ” out now.

Over the last couple of months, he has steadily increased anticipation for the song’s arrival with one snippet after another on TikTok, breaking the news of its release in a post earlier this week. The track’s sunny synth line warbles over a head-nodding bounce as The Kid LAROI lights up the beat with boasts such as “My favorite hobby’s probably getting rich.” The momentum builds, and he professes true love like only he can. In the accompanying visual directed by Alex Lill, dozens of ladies surround the star as they chase him in slow-motion until the action culminates on a shot straight out of a nineties fashion spread.

Zelijah’s “Show U” music video captures the messiness and fun of an ‘actual’ party

The Filipino rapper-producer maintains his appetite for culture-defining sounds, Caribbean-infused beats, and hypnotic lyrics on this new bop under Sony Music Entertainment

Filipino rapper-producer Zelijah hits a sweet spot between peak-club trendiness and experimentation on his new single “Show U”—out today via Sony Music Entertainment.

The release of the song comes with a music video helmed by Leo Malli. According to the director, the MV explores the perspective of different people in a party, capturing both the messiness, the fun, and the quirks that go behind it.

“I made sure we took real pieces of what Zelijah has seen throughout his life,” Malli says. “Just that it’s all happening in one night. The night we shot the MV, we were also holding his birthday and listening party, so this was a real party happening. It’s more organic that way.”

Multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY® Award nominated artist Tove Lo is back today with the official music video for ‘2 Die 4’, the latest single off her highly anticipated fifth studio album DIRT FEMME, out October 14th via Pretty Swede Records/mtheory.

Speaking about the new video, Tove reveals, "We wanted to make a pop bitch y2k experience. With all the choreo, the outfits, the wetness. I think we more than delivered.”

An irresistible and undeniable club banger, ‘2 Die 4’ has both fans and press alike gushing, with PAPER hailing the track “a spectacular shot of adrenaline in pop song form,” and leading Pitchfork to laud Tove as “a brutally consistent marksman,” and NYLON to proclaim, “Tove Lo’s singlehandedly reviving Eurodance.”

The iconic track samples the equally iconic ‘Popcorn’ hook, originally released by Hot Butter in 1972, and marks Tove’s first time ever incorporating a sample. Speaking about the song, she explains, “With ‘2 Die 4’ I wanted ‘instantly iconic’ energy. I've never sampled anything before, and this feels like the perfect first moment. Lyrically I wanted it to be that ‘pick me up when I'm feeling down’ song. At first, it's like a warm hug, then you shake it off, let out a scream and start dancing!”

‘2 Die 4’ serves as the follow up to ‘True Romance,’ a powerful and emotionally-wrought ballad, featuring some of her most impressive vocal work to date, with The FADER heaping on the praise, stating Dancefloor catharsis is no longer the endgame in this gorgeous ballad,” and adding “Tove Lo delivers one of the best vocal performances of her career,” and Billboard proclaiming “with a pulsing beat and muted synth-line, Lo lets her voice ring out like a trumpet,” and saying “’True Romance’ should absolutely be the next thing on your playlist.” Listen to ‘True Romance’ HERE and watch the accompanying visualizer HERE.

Clara Benin navigates her journey towards healing on the music video of “blink”

Filipino singer-songwriter Clara Benin returns with the visual accompaniment to her new single “blink.”

Heavily inspired by Michel Gondry’s romantic sci-fi film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the music video finds the folk-pop phenom waking up in bed on a distant shoreline of a beach, while navigating her journey towards healing and self-preservation.

The ethereal clip is directed by Josh Elefan, a close friend and frequent collaborator of Benin. “We actually came up with the concept together,” said the 28-year-old multi-talented artist. “This video is so personal to the both of us.”

Filipino folk-reggae artist JAPPH captures the groove of surf town life on “I Will” music video

Filipino indie singer-songwriter JAPPH projects an aura of bohemian cool when it comes to his music.

His work, an infectious blend of campfire-friendly folk and light reggae lilt, has summer written all over it. He aims for carefree breeziness that zips through the airwaves with images of a laid-back trip to the beach or the mountains—a sonic trademark that he pulls off with unassuming confidence and warmth.

On his official debut single “I Will,” the acoustic troubadour delivers feel-good music that resonates on a broader front: sun-dappled guitars that coast with melodic ease, a laid-back singing devoid of complications and runs, and a winsome hook to whistle your way to the countryside. It’s an acoustic surf track built around a blissful vibe, ready to soundtrack your long drives and sunset chills at the hammock anytime soon.

The Itchyworms release Di Na Muli official music video

Di Na Muli was written in 2016 by long-time friends Jazz Nicolas and Wally Acolola. They entered the song into the 5th Philippine Popular (PhilPop) Music Festival, performed by The Itchyworms, where it won the grand prize. Now, in 2018, the song has been given new life in the official soundtrack of the hit film Sid & Aya (Not A Love Story) (Viva Films, starring Dingdong Dantes and Anne Curtis, directed by Irene Villamor).

Somewhere in between PhilPop and Sid & Aya, the Itchyworms set out to immortalize the song. The result was a visually stunning and emotional music video, directed by Paolo Abella. Help also came along in the form of the video's co-director Juno Oebanda, longtime friend of the band, and the generous indulgence of none other than the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The link to the CCP is Teddy Hilado (d. 2015), recognized as the father of lighting design in Philippine theater, who is also the uncle of Oebanda

Kai Buizon captures the magic of romantic serendipity in new track “Milagro”

The song was inspired by the Japanese concept of Koi No Yokan, which reveals a more nuanced and intuitive take on “love at first sight” Risi...
