Philippines’ pride: Meet the Filipino artists performing at the ‘IslaFest’ fusion festival

Inigo Pascual, Angeline Quinto, Maymay Entrata, Edward Barber, and Jericho Rosales will share the stage with the Japanese artists at the first ever Filipino-Japanese fusion festival

Some of the best Filipino artists come together for a momentous celebration,  as the Philippine Expo Organizing Committee and TFC bring the first Filipino-Japanese fusion festival, the “IslaFest”, happening on June 14 to 16 at the Ueno Park, in Tokyo, Japan.

Different Filipino artists will be sharing the stage with the Japanese artists on each day of the festival. Let us get to know the Filipino artists who will represent the country in each day of the festival.

Filipino at Japanese artists magsasama-sama sa “IslaFest” fusion festival


Saksihan ang pagsasama ng kulturang Pilipino at Japanese sa tatlong araw na fusion festival na mangyayari sa June 14 hanggang 16 sa Ueno Park sa Tokyo

Ngayong Hunyo, makisaya, makikanta, at mabusog sa kauna-unahang Filipino-Japanese fusion festival na “IslaFest”, na magaganap sa June 14 hanggang 16 sa Ueno Park, sa Tokyo, Japan.
Handog ng Philippine Expo Organizing Committee at TFC ang tatlong araw na event na ito kung saan pinagsama ang kulturang Pilipino at Japanese, mula sa makulay na selebrasyon, masasarap na pagkain, hanggang sa kahanga-hangang pagtatanghal mula sa mga Pilipino at Japanese artists.

“We are excited with the very first Islafest event in Japan, a 3-day Filipino-Japanese fusion event that puts the spotlight on the rich culture and talent of both Filipinos and Japanese. This celebration aims to have a greater appreciation and knowledge about our two countries,” saad ABS-CBN Global Country Manager for North Asia Eric Martin Santos.

Philippine ‘Dance Empress’ Maja Salvador, raring to perform for Filipinos in Japan via “The Songwriter Meets the Wildflower”

Fresh from her Filipino Expo performance in Tokyo on June 17, the Philippines’ Dance Empress is all set to return to Japan this quarter.  This July 15,  the multi-awarded performer will once again delight Filipinos and nationals at the “The Songwriter Meets the Wildflower” concert at the Handashi Fukushi Bunka Kaikan, 1-22-1 Kariyado-cho, Handa-shi, Aichi-ken 475-0918. 

Salvador, who is the lead actress of the iconic series “Wildflower”, has been a frequent flyer to Japan whether for work or for leisure.  The multi-faceted performer first performed for Filipinos in Kawasaki, Japan in 2008.  Since then, she has since become a favorite, performing for TFC events such as “OK Go” in 2016.  Apart from work, she has also made several leisure trips to the Land of the Rising Sun with her family and friends.

Filipinos in Japan shower Vice Ganda with love in “Pusuan Mo si Vice Ganda sa Japan”

It felt like Valentine’s Day all over again for the Philippines’ Unkabogabol Star Vice Ganda as the Filipino community in Japan warmly welcomed him mid-year at the “Pusuan Mo si Vice Ganda sa Japan: Nagmahal. Nasaktan. Nag-concert” held last July 2 at the Ichikawa City Cultural Hall, in Chiba Prefecture.

Loud cheers from the audience filled the venue as soon as Vice Ganda shared his TV home “It’s Showtime’s” signature greeting “What’s up, madlang people?!”.
