Thai rapper MILLI unleashes multi-dimensional heaviness in new full album HEAVYWEIGHT

Thai rap sensation MILLI unleashes multi-dimensional heaviness in her new full album HEAVYWEIGHT, marking her ascent to “heavyweight” status as an artist. Featuring 13 tracks that channel MILLI’s stories and emotions, the album combines captivating lyrics, raw emotions, hard-hitting beats, and her signature powerful rap style to deliver intense and powerful performances in each song. While almost all the lyrics are in English, MILLI incorporated fun Thai words and infused her own unique personality in every track.

The album features an impressive lineup of international artists, including Knock2, BewhY, Awich, and ATARASHII GAKKO!, alongside talented Thai artists like HUGO and Gong from the band H3F. Additionally, MILLI worked together with multiple international producers and songwriters during a songwriting camp in LA, returning with nearly half the album completed.

Sharing her feelings about the album, MILLI described HEAVYWEIGHT as “one that I truly love” and said, “It represents the weight in every fiber of my being, in every story that has come into my life. I compare myself to a boxer who has slowly climbed from the atomweight division, fighting through and facing every hardship that came my way. Now, I'm ready to step into the HEAVYWEIGHT division as an artist”.

Thai rapper Milli showcases emotional side with new single “MENACE”

Explosive Thai rapper MILLI has just released a peek at her upcoming album with the second single ‘MENACE’, a suave crossover track with introspective lyrics that represent MILLI’s inner emotions, showing a stark contrast from her previous hard-hitting release ‘ONE PUNCH’.

“After the intense ‘ONE PUNCH’, I’m shifting towards R&B vibes with this new song ‘MENACE’. The intensity of the two songs is very different. This song has a much lighter groove, but the lyrics are extremely heavy because they represent my own pain of choosing to walk away from a relationship that was hurting me,” said MILLI.

New Single “MANGO STICKY RICE” Out Now Via 88rising

First Thai Solo Artist to Perform at Coachella Creates Global Mango Sticky Rice Frenzy

If you were at Coachella 2022, and you happened to catch 88rising’s monumental “Head In The Clouds Forever” set on the main stage on Saturday evening, you undoubtedly saw one of the most incredible moments of the festival:  the Thai rapper/singer MILLI, flanked by half a dozen male dancers on either side of her, spitting fiery barbs of a song called “Mango Sticky Rice” while eating spoonfuls of the iconic dish between verses.  The moment was punctuated by MILLI being the first Thai solo artist to ever play at the festival.

That performance was so next level, it set off a global chain reaction for the popular Thai dessert, which literally went viral, raising sales of the dish across multiple countries following her performance.  As reported by CNN, NBC News, NME, The Guardian, The Independent, The Nation Thailand, South China Morning Post, and many more, MILLI’s Coachella moment raised the sweet Thai dessert’s stature to a fever pitch.  A mere two days later, the Thai Prime Minister lobbied UNESCO to make mango sticky rice a national dish for Thailand.   And it was MILLI’s track that started it all.
