Lights, Camera, Panalo: Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival introduces finalist directors

Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, the much-awaited event that is set to hail a new generation of outstanding Filipino films, officially introduced the recipients of its coveted film grants during a press conference held at the Artson Events Place, Quezon City. 

Attended by representatives from Puregold, the film directors, their respective producers, and other key members of their teams, the press conference highlighted Puregold’s primary objectives: to provide a platform for both well-known and emerging filmmakers, and to showcase narratives—collectively called Kuwentong Panalo—that can touch the heart and remind us of the indomitable Filipino spirit.

Stars Dazzle at Official “Ang Lalaki sa Likod ng Profile” Press Conference

The stars shone bright at the recent Tindahan ni Aling Puring Sari-sari Store Negosyo Convention, Puregold’s annual celebration of small business owners across the country. Among the many exciting events lined up for participants, one notable highlight was the official press conference for “Ang Lalaki sa Likod ng Profile,” which took place on the first day. 

In attendance was award-winning filmmaker and producer Chris Cahilig, who gave the welcome remarks, while director Victor Villanueva both entertained and inspired the audience as he later related his experiences behind the scenes.

This is the bittersweet theme of revitalized Filipino boyband 1:43’s comeback single titled “Trapik Tralala,” which speaks of a young man’s growing exasperation as he finds himself stuck in traffic on his way to see the girl of his dreams.

Composed by OPM icon Jim Paredes and arranged by Sonic State Audio Studio’s Jonathan Ong, “Trapik Tralala” was originally a part of the APO’s 1996 album Dating Alternatib but which was not released as a single, then.
