Dive into the Shadows of ‘Three Pines,’ Lionsgate Play’s Newest Crime Series

Alfred Molina hooks viewers with his crime-solving skills as Chief Inspector Armand Gamache.

Fans of cozy small-town mysteries will surely be hooked by Lionsgate Play’s latest drop, Three Pines, an intriguing series set in an idyllic Quebec village.

More than a decade after his stint as a detective in Law & Order: LA, critically acclaimed actor Alfred Molina again takes the lead as Chief Inspector Armand Gamache. Empathetic and armed with iron-clad ethics, Gamache sets on investigating a string of murders in the seemingly perfect community of Three Pines. But between the mysterious homicides and eccentric townsfolk, the inspector soon stumbles on the village’s dark secrets and, in the process, is forced to face a few of his own ghosts.

Three Pines is a murder mystery series that will keep you watching every episode until the end. It goes beyond the typical crime procedural and offers thought-provoking commentary on complex issues like Indigenous rights, colonialism, and systemic injustice. As Gamache tackles various cases in each episode, the series adds much depth and even new perspectives, making it impactful and relevant to present-day issues.

With all eight episodes now available on Lionsgate Play, buckle up and join Chief Inspector Armand Gamache as he pieces together clues and solves the mysteries in this must-watch series.

On talking about his character, Molina tells Vanity Fair that Armand Gamache is one of the best roles of his career yet: “This without a doubt is one of the best roles I've ever had the opportunity to play, and I'm praying to the TV gods that it will continue for many years to come. It's the experience of finding a role that you know has got so much potential to evolve and develop and to go somewhere. I've read about eight or nine of the books now, and the Armand Gamache in book nine is very different from the very first book. And we're working very hard to mirror that in the way that we're developing these characters for television.”

Get ready to solve the mystery of Three Pines, now streaming on Lionsgate Play.
