First Filipino Film distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, Kicked Off The Biggest Mediacon and Fancon

Mentorque Productions makes history through its film and Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 entry, MALLARI, as the first Filipino movie distributed by Warner Brothers Pictures. To kick off its month-long journey towards the December 25 MMFF 2023 release, Mentorque in cooperation with Cleverminds Incorporated, it will hold the biggest and grandest media and fan conference-in-one on Friday, December 1 at at The Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

Mallari stars the Philippines' ultimate heartthrob Polo Pascual as Fr. Juan Severino Mallari, the first Filipino priest executed by the Spanish colonial government.

The mediacon will be at Cinema 5. To join the momentous event, registration is at 2 pm. Refreshments for registered guests will be served at 3 pm onwards, in the mall's activity center during the fan conference. The media will have special access to cover the ongoing activities, which will feature a show, games, interactive booths, the Mallari Gallery, and there will be giveaways too.

Super-Powered Korean Drama "MOVING" Nominated For Best Foreign Language Series At 29th Annual Critics Choice Aawards

today’s Critics Choice Awards announcement is the latest in a series of nominations and wins for the hit Korean drama

Earlier today, the thrilling Disney+ Korean drama series Moving was nominated for Best Foreign Language Series at the U.S.’s 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards.

Set to be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 (Pacific Standard Time), the 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards is a celebration of the finest cinematic and television achievements, with today’s announcement marking the latest of a series of nominations for Moving in recent months.

Since October this year, Moving has taken home the awards for Best Creative, Best Visual Effects, Best Writer (Kangfull), Best Lead Actor (Ryu Seungryong), Best Newcomer Actor (Lee Jungha) and Best Newcomer Actress (Go Younjung) at Busan International Film Festival’s Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards, as well as the Best Series and Best Actress in a Series (Han Hyojoo) awards at the 59th Daejong International Film Award.

SCRUBB confirms debut concert in Manila on February 2024

The upcoming show is produced and presented by GNN

It’s official: SCRUBB is coming to the Philippines early next year.

The Thai-based act just confirmed on their social media that they will be headlining their own solo show in Manila in partnership with local production outfit GNN.

Details about the upcoming concert will be announced on December 11, 2023, at 6 p.m.

SCRUBB is a phenomenal Thai alt-pop duo whose music reached global popularity thanks to their enormous contributions to the official soundtrack of 2gether: The Series. The said TV show is touted the biggest Boy’s Love hit ever released internationally and features young superstars Vachirawit Chivaaree (Bright) and Metawin Opas-iamkajorn (Win) as leads. 

The original soundtrack to the series includes multiple songs from SCRUBB, along with a few notable ones from the main actors and other guest acts.

A prolific music act composed of Thawatpon Wongboonsiri and Torpong Chantabubpha, SCRUBB has produced six studio albums throughout the course of their career and has done sold-out shows in Bangkok and key cities across Asia.

Felip to join AEGIS and Jose Mari Chan for a holiday-themed concert

P-Pop soloist FELIP is the latest addition to AEGIS: The Christmas Bonus Concert, happening at The Theatre at Solaire in Paranaque City, Metro Manila, on December 20, 2023, from 8:00 p.m. onwards.

The promising newcomer, also popularly known as Ken to the legion of SB19 fans all over the world, will be joining Diamond-awardee balladeer Jose Mari Chan and the Manila String Machine for the year-ender event featuring pop-rock royalty AEGIS, who will be hitting the concert stage with their career-spanning hits.

Just recently, Felip released a cover of “Moving Closer” as part of Warner Music Philippines’ 30th Anniversary celebration. He also represented the Philippines at the Music Matters in Singapore a few months ago. The edgy crossover act is also rumored to perform a special number that will surely rock The Theatre at Solaire.

Highly-Anticipated New Original Series FX’s “Shōgun” Premieres Exclusively On Disney+ In The Philippines On February 27

Disney+ revealed FX’s “Shōgun,” the much-anticipated global event series, will premiere on Tuesday, February 27 on Disney+. The premiere of the 10-episode limited series will include the first two episodes, followed by a new episode each week. Disney+ also released new “Shōgun” art.

“Shōgun,” an original adaptation of James Clavell’s bestselling novel, is set in Japan in the year 1600 at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. Producer Hiroyuki Sanada stars as “Lord Yoshii Toranaga” who is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him. When a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village, its English pilot, “John Blackthorne” (Cosmo Jarvis), comes bearing secrets that could help Toranaga tip the scales of power and devastate the formidable influence of Blackthorne’s own enemies — the Jesuit priests and Portuguese merchants. Toranaga’s and Blackthorne’s fates become inextricably tied to their translator, “Toda Mariko” (Anna Sawai), a mysterious Christian noblewoman and the last of a disgraced line. While serving her lord amidst this fraught political landscape, Mariko must reconcile her newfound companionship with Blackthorne, her commitment to the faith that saved her and her duty to her late father.

HBO Releases Official Teaser and First Look For Season Two of Original Drama Series House of the Dragon

HBO has released the official teaser for the second season of the HBO Original drama series House of the Dragon during its CCXP23 panel in São Paulo, Brazil. Coming in 2024, the eight-episode second season will debut on HBO and HBO GO.  

Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” tells the story of House Targaryen.
