Filipinos have such rich and colorful culture that is best experienced first-hand, but since this is not possible due to the Covid-19 pandemic, TFC in partnership with Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival and Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) brings them a glimpse of it through the films featured in the “Cinemalaya 2020.”

PH’s largest indie film fest “Cinemalaya 2020” now streaming on TFC Online, “Ang Huling El Bimbo Musical” coming this September
Filipinos celebrate the Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa (National Language Month) every August, and to pay homage to the Filipino language, TFC puts the spotlight to proudly Filipino films and theater performance as it brings Cinemalaya 2020, the biggest independent film festival in the Philippines and the nostalgic musical “Ang Huling El Bimbo Musical” to the Kapamilyas overseas.
Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival is an annual event established by the Cinemalaya Foundation, a non-stock, non-profit, and non-government foundation that advocates “the development and promotion of the Philippine independent film.” It provides grants to at most 10 full-length feature film producers, recognizes short filmmakers, and supports the growth of practicing and aspiring filmmakers through various masterclasses.

The freedom to live and love in the film "Malaya", now streaming worldwide on iWant, TFC Online, and TFC IPTV

Aside from the deep love shared by the lead characters, the film also takes a look at the lives of the overseas Filipinos who endure the loneliness in a foreign land and being away from their children to provide them a better future. While at the same time, left-behind children suffer the emotional and social impact of the separation, and that pain lingers even when children become reunited with parents over the years.

TFC Online launches the ultimate male TV habit, “For The Boys”

It’s a mix of action, comedy, romance and everything macho in between – just how Pinoys like it. The roster of content includes Fernando Poe Jr.’s classics and more recent action-packed films, as well as binge-worthy TV shows from thriller to sexy to comedy. Car aficionados, tech buffs, and metro men will find something to whet their appetite from the list of ABS-CBN lifestyle programs. Sports enthusiasts can relive the adrenaline-pumping moments of UAAP and MPBL.
“We’ve conceptualized this campaign with our overseas Filipinos in mind. We met them in Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. They came from different backgrounds, set out for various reasons, and looking for diverse ways to entertain themselves while away from the Philippines. We want to give them a platform where they can definitely find something for them. We want them to feel that with TFC, there’s no curfew or limits to what they can enjoy. That is how For The Boys came to being,” shared TFC’s Regional Marketing Head for Asia Pacific Raymund Romero.
