QCinema announces participants selected for the 2024 QCinema Critics Lab 2024

For its 12th year, QCinema International Film Festival (QCIFF) is opening its doors for the second time to six (6) emerging and established critics from all over the Philippines to participate in the QCinema Critics Lab. Motivated by a desire to expand and deepen the discourse on Filipino, Southeast Asian, and international cinema, QCinema has created the lab to actively support film criticism, promote coverage of non-English language and arthouse films in the Philippines, and assist talented film critics from any background and at any age in developing their careers as independent cultural workers with uncompromising voices.

The 2024 QCinema Critics Lab participants are Acer Batislaong, Brontë Lacsamana, Joaquin Singson, Ligaya Villablanca, Maverick Alviar, and Mac John Bautista. More information about each of them can be found below:

Janine Gutierrez stars as a salesladsy in a local department store. Her everyday life is composed of an exhausting communte home and a Manager who always seems to have something to say about her physical state. When she finally gets home, there's no one there but her roommate who couldn't care less about her.

All that is about to change when she finds a particular looking gun right on her doorstep. He life instantly changes as she feels she can do anything she wants, talk back to whomever she wants, and even hurt anyone she wants.
