Zack Tabudlo caps off his stellar year with heartfelt pop/R&B ballad “PANO”

Listen to ZACK TABUDLO’s “PANO”: https://ZackTabudlo.lnk.to/Pano

Breakout artist Zack Tabudlo closes out 2021 with a string of record-breaking achievements. His breakthrough single “Binibini” recently topped the list of Spotify Philippines’ most-streamed song of 2021, while “Nangangamba,” another chart-topper, emerged as the second most-streamed OPM song. The prolific singer-songwriter has also received positive acclaim for his work on Episode—his star-turning debut album under Island Records Philippines and MCA Music Inc.

Now ready to prove his staying power with generation-defining anthems that go full-circle from being outright confessional to universally relatable, Zack Tabudlo caps off his stellar year with a new song exploring the themes of confused love.

“PANO,” another R&B-pop ballad amplified with richer, lustrous sound, deals about the pain of losing someone you’ve given your heart and love to, despite trying your best to make everything work.

Zack explains, “the song is about showing your vulnerability and genuine love to a person, and getting your hopes and expectations high. Despite all of the great things that you’ve been through, you still end up breaking your heart. The other person just doesn’t feel the same way about commitment and love.”

Love is a risk worth taking on Fern.’s “Baby Rye” music video

Listen to fern.’s ‘Baby Rye’: https://ferndot.lnk.to/BabyRye

You can check the music video here: https://ferndot.lnk.to/MVBabyRye

Filipino singer-songwriter and producer fern. shows effortless fluidity on the smooth R&B track “Baby Rye”—released under Island Records Philippines and MCA Music Inc.

Informed by starkly vulnerable lyrics and suave production, “Baby Rye” plays into the idea of fern.’s complicated relationship with romance, and how commitment entails risks that may or may not be worth having in your life.

According to the acclaimed musician, the song is about falling in love with someone who isn’t particularly good for you. “Love most of the time, is a gamble that people are always willing to take and sometimes it works out for the better other times it won’t, but we continue to fall in and out of love,” he adds.

Sitti Releases "Singles Bossa Nova Trio"

There’s only one name that comes into mind when we say bossa nova. It has been almost 10 years since the release of the double platinum, Café Bossa. But her distinct voice and a full roster of bossa-fied hits has made Sitti a prominent name in the music industry. And this year, she’ll revive the well-loved album, recorded al fresco with Singles Bossa Nova Trio.

The final product came as a surprise after being just a fun, last hurrah to singlehood project for Sitti. Talks with MCA Music produced a one-day, live recording session at a house in Rizal with guitarist Erskine Basilio and percussionist Diego Martinez. No pressure, just good old jamming, and this time with Mother Nature. “What makes this record special is that the birds from the area sang with me as well,” Sitti remembers. They went out of the studio to create an experience close to the jam sessions with friends or family music lovers have at home. And the results were better that Sitti has hoped for. “It was quite magical.”

Nicole Releases Debut Album As Solo Artist

Nicole Laurel Asensio is a rare breed – she has the blood of legendary musical families of music legends, soprano Fides Cuyugan Asensio is her grandmother and singer/actor Cocoy Laurel is her uncle, where she got her love and passion for music and being a singer/songwriter herself. Growing up from a family of classical and Broadway singers, Nicole happened to found herself the same genre with a mixture of modern rock.

From the all-girl rock band General Luna, who is now a solo artist and performer, Nicole is ready to show her pure talent alongside with the release of her new solo album “Schizoprano”, under MCA Music. Nicole admits that she’s doing a total overhaul from being in bands most of her career and it has been life changing. “There’s a part where you need to step out of your comfort zone and learn from other musicians. And when it comes to supportive musical friends, I am blessed. Musically, I feel more free to collaborate and venture off sound wise – so that's a plus,” Nicole shared.

Zero in on Pupil’s Zilch, the Band’s Most Sophisticated Release to Date

When Ely Buendia sings “The world is a place / behind this firewall” on Zilch’s scorching opener “Firewall,” it is both an invitation and a taunt: a wink-nudge suggestion that there is a plane beyond the rabbit-hole—that the practice of imagining is a reward in itself, perhaps the best reward of all—but also a show of sneer-filled discontent. In this day and age, when unthinkable things start coming to life, when fiction starts ringing like the truth, it is odd of anyone to not want to rearrange the furniture in their minds even for a bit. And Zilch, Pupil’s fourth full-length and their first with MCA Music, Inc., is charitable in imaginings both musical and lyrical.

Finished during a collaborative sabbatical of sorts—Buendia doing shows with punk-rockabilly supergroup The Oktaves, as well as booking the occasional solo revue home and elsewhere; drummer Wendell Garcia doing session work with a host of acts, even reuniting for a few gigs with Barbie’s Cradle; and, perhaps most publicly, bassist Dok Sergio and new guitarist Jerome Velasco doing a string of successful shows with the momentarily-reformed Teeth—the new record brings with it a fresh perspective on Pupil music-making.

JC Regino Releases Debut EP

From watching his dad, April Boy Regino, do sold-out shows and huge concerts, it’s now his turn to show that “like father, like son” is true in all aspects. JC Regino has finally taking things on his own with a new self-titled EP.

It wasn’t his plan to become an artist even if the music genes was apparently passed on to him – tinkering with the guitar, piano, and the drums growing up. He was his father’s biggest fan; seeing crowds singing along, hearing massive radio airplay, plus TV and movie appearances. Seeing his father living the dream, JC tried to write his first song at 14 and asked his hitmaker father for some pointers. “Hindi nya nagustuhan,” quips the 23-year old singer-songwriter. That first attempt made the more determined JC to impress his greatest critic and finished “Hanggang Sa Dulo Ng Aking Buhay” and “Di Na Ako Iibig Pang Muli” both included in their father-son album, “Idolstar” in 2010. That was also JC’s first foray into the music scene and got more fascinated with the ins and outs of the industry.
