1300 Releases Dance-Driven Ode To Bread, ‘BANGALANG’

The Sydney-based alternative hip-hop group returns with their first single in 2025 under JADED

1300 return with their latest dance-ready single, “BANGALANG,” their first single of the year, released today under JADED.

On “BANGALANG,” the Korean-Australian alternative hip-hop group explores pop sonics incorporated with pokari.sweat and Nerdie’s strong bass, dance-driven production intended to invoke fun, spontaneity, and playfulness—true to the spirit to which it was made: during one of their weekly studio sessions, rapper DALI HART spontaneously busted out the hook, “Bangalang alang alang alang alang,” which he ended up punching in the booth.

In it, DALI HART, along with rako and goyo, trade bars around bread (빵 ‘ppang’ in Korean), from beloved Asian-style baked goods to croquettes. “It’s a song literally about bread,” 1300 says about the track. “It’s not that deep; it comes from a sense of play and we just wanted to have fun again.”

The five-piece recently wrapped up a round of promotions in LA in May to showcase the single ahead of release. Earlier this year, they made a televised appearance at ABC's New Year’s Eve 2025 concert at the Sydney Opera House.

The single also marks 1300’s first official project since the release of their 2024 mixtape, GEORGE.

“BANGALANG” is the first release under JADED’s label. JADED is a multi-platform independent music company headquartered in Los Angeles. JADED develops, services, manages, and promotes the best emerging Asian artists from around the world.

About 1300:

Composed of rappers rako and goyo, rapper-singer-dancer DALI HART, producer-singer Nerdie, and producer pokari.sweat, 1300 (pronounced “one three hundred”) was formed after a chance encounter at a house party, having previously orbited Sydney’s small Korean-Australian music scene. Their genre-blending style fuses rap, abrasive SoundCloud beats, 90s breakbeat, and sweat-drenched electronic music, creating an electrifying stage presence.

1300’s breakout year saw them earn accolades with their mixtape Foreign Language, including a shortlist for the Australian Music Prize, a spot on NME’s Best Australian Albums list (#23), inclusion in the NME 100 for 2023, and FBi Radio SMAC Award nominations for Album of the Year and Best Video (“Oldboy”), which won triple j and rage’s Australian Music Video of the Year J Award.

Their Like A Version cover of Psy’s “Gangnam Style” became a festival favorite, and they have shared stages with Danny Brown, Theophilus London, Ateez, Stray Kids, Kid Milli, Genesis Owusu, and Confidence Man.

1300 were named HiphopLE’s Group of the Year and Hiphopplaya’s Upcoming Artists of 2022, and featured in Netflix’s Heartbreak High reboot, the NBA 2K24 soundtrack, and Disney+’s American Born Chinese. Their music was also selected for Samsung’s Galaxy Flip4 launch campaign.

Their discography includes standout singles “Lalaland,” “Brr,” “No Caller ID,” “Smashmouth,” “Oldboy,” “Rocksta,” and “Steve Jobs” (feat. Kwame), plus the Foreign Language mixtape, their Valentine’s Day EP <3 (pronounced “less than three”), and sophomore mixtape, GEORGE.

They’ve collaborated with artists such as Ninajirachi, Kian, Kwame, Taka Perry, Mung Mung, SOLLYY, and Ta-Ku. The group has also garnered co-signs from Korean artists giriboy, APRO, Ron, Ugly Duck, SUMIN, and Lil Boi.

1300 is under worldwide management by Jaded.
