Ang Dambuhalang Pagbabalik: Ruru Madrid returns to primetime with "Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan"

Primetime Action Hero Ruru Madrid is set to reprise his titular role as Lolong in the much- awaited new season of "Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan" - this time teeming with bigger action scenes and even more compelling drama. Ruru's nuanced performance for television prime is something to look forward to coming off his big screen triumph and 2024 MMFF Best Supporting Actor win.

Set to make a comeback with Ruru are the well-loved characters of Shaira Diaz, Rochelle Pangilinan, Paul Salas, Mikoy Morales, Alma Concepcion, Maui Taylor, and Ms. Jean Garcia.

Joining Lolong in his exciting new journey are John Arcilla, Rocco Nacino, Martin del Rosario, Klea Pineda, and Ms. Tetchie Agbayani.

Produced by GMA Public Affairs, the first season of Lolong became a force to reckon with in primetime viewing, making it 2022's most-watched television series. It was hailed as "Best Primetime Serye" at the 2022 Gawad Pilipino Icon of the Year and was the Philippines' National Winner for Best Visual/Special Effects at the 2022 Asian Academy Creative Awards.

As it makes a dambuhalang comeback on television, Lolong (Ruru) dreams of a world where everyone is equal, regardless of their differences. But just as the people's hero begins to live in peace with his fellow Atubaw, tragedy strikes on his wedding day. To save his beloved Elsie (Shaira) and his people, Lolong must embark on a perilous quest to recover the legendary Ubtao, a gem with miraculous powers.

The show's powerhouse ensemble includes Victor Neri, Nonie Buencamino, Rodjun Cruz, Pancho Magno, Michelle Dee, Nikki Valdez, Bernadette Allyson, Boom Labrusca, Jan Marini, Gerard Pizarras, Archi Adamos, Nicco Manalo, Nikko Natividad, John Clifford, Waynona Collings, Rubi Rubi, Inah Evans, Barbiengot Forteza, Joe Vargas, Karenina Haniel, and Mr. Leo Martinez.

"Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan" also introduces child stars Ryrie Sophia and Drey Lampago.

A crocodile-themed action-adventure drama series, "Lolong" centers on a man's extraordinary friendship with a giant crocodile named Dakila. In "Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan, viewers can look forward to Lolong's journey in facing new challenges and unanticipated twists after he successfully united the people of Tumahan with the mysterious Atubaws.

Co-directing "Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan" are King Mark Baco and Rommel Penesa, whose combined talents give a more cinematic feel to this season's offering.
