The Accidental Loveteam of #AlDub

Eat Bulaga is 36 years in TV and has done a lot of things to keep things new and interesting to viewers, but they were also surprised with the the emergence of the 'accidental loveteam" of Yaya Dub Smash (Maine Mendoza) and Alden "Bae" Richards.

What is supposed to be just a small stint for All for Juan segment, Yaya Dub is the companion of Lola Nidora in one of the barangays that they visited. Alden was one of the guest for Eat Bulaga. Then things got cheesy when they started making "moves" showing interest in each other on live TV, which was an instant hit. Yaya Dub will do her dubsmash moves, while Alden does his charming look.

Then they had an idea to make it a unique story called "kalyeserye" (since the scenes where done on the streets where they are doing the All for Juan segment). Everyday now on Eat Bulaga, the most awaited part is the exchange of sweet and loving gestures of the two.

But of course a kalyeserye won't be complete without a contrabida, which Lola Nidora comes in to warn Alden with threatening yet funny lines like "Babala.... asawa ni Babalu..." She does not want the two to meet in person, though the real reason in the diary has not been revealed.

There has also some twists and surprises in the show like Lola's secret diary been stolen by a riding-in-tandem gang, Alden being kidnapped and tortured, Yaya Dub trying to escape but only to be foiled by Lola's bodyguards (Rogelio, Rogelio, Rogelio, and Rogelio) and even a face off with Lola and Alden's "tita" Celia Rodriguez. Lola Nidora revealed that Yaya Dub's ransom is worth P 51,000,600.

Then came the 3rd weeksary of the loveteam, but only to arranged to be married to Frankie Arenoli, which is called the "YaKie" wedding. It was revealed in the invitation, that Yaya Dub's complete name is Divina Ursula Bokbokova Smash. 

But things got into an unexpected turn with Maine actually fainting on live TV while the "wedding" was being conducted. She was immediately given first aid and was sent to the hospital for further care. Alden actually came to the venue of the nuptial only to find she is gone. Story theories suggest that  Alden would come to the wedding and take off with YayaDub, which did not happen. Another foiled meeting of the two, which broke many hearts and concerns on Maine's condition.

But there is good news when Maine was able to tweet that she is now OK, and the reason for her fainting was waking up weak and she did not take her medication. She posted a lively instagram post showing that she is now in good health.

The AlDub loveteam is always trending on twitter, and has gained top spot in the Philippines, and at sometimes on world trending. Several social media pages created by fans has sprung up, together with videos of the kalyeserye been shared on facebook and YouTube. 

So what happens next for AlDub? Will they ever meet face to face? Why is Lola Nidora's make-up is so bad?
