Multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY® Award nominated artist Tove Lo is back today with the official music video for ‘2 Die 4’, the latest single off her highly anticipated fifth studio album DIRT FEMME, out October 14th via Pretty Swede Records/mtheory.

Speaking about the new video, Tove reveals, "We wanted to make a pop bitch y2k experience. With all the choreo, the outfits, the wetness. I think we more than delivered.”

 

An irresistible and undeniable club banger, ‘2 Die 4’ has both fans and press alike gushing, with PAPER hailing the track “a spectacular shot of adrenaline in pop song form,” and leading Pitchfork to laud Tove as “a brutally consistent marksman,” and NYLON to proclaim, “Tove Lo’s singlehandedly reviving Eurodance.”

 

The iconic track samples the equally iconic ‘Popcorn’ hook, originally released by Hot Butter in 1972, and marks Tove’s first time ever incorporating a sample. Speaking about the song, she explains, “With ‘2 Die 4’ I wanted ‘instantly iconic’ energy. I've never sampled anything before, and this feels like the perfect first moment. Lyrically I wanted it to be that ‘pick me up when I'm feeling down’ song. At first, it's like a warm hug, then you shake it off, let out a scream and start dancing!”

Star Magic artists show up for the most vibrant community outreach in the SF Bay Area

The second leg of Star Magic’s 30th anniversary concert tour in San Francisco was a crucial part in building community and bridging the Filipino diaspora to the motherland through artistry and cultural pride.

20 young artists from the Philippines explored the Bay Area as they participated in several community outreach activities before and after their “Beyond the Stars” show at The Warfield on August 12.

Announcement – Fiji Blue will be bringing their Asia Tour ‘22 to Manila on November 17, 2022 at the Samsung Hall in SM Aura Premier. The self-described “sad boy chill house” duo are behind the well-loved hits ‘It Takes Two’, ‘Butterflies’, ‘Waves’, ‘Affection’, ‘Outside’ and more.

Through the combination of sad yet hopeful lyrics, Fiji Blue strives to guide the listener through their most vulnerable moments. Singer/songwriter Trevor Dering carries a unique writing style that touches on the inner conflicts between waves of sadness and ecstasy. The sound originated when Dering met producer Valentin Fritz at Berklee College of Music in 2017 where they developed the sonics that eventually blossomed into Fiji Blue’s first release in 2019.

NIKI will follow up her Coachella appearance with a performance at 88rising’s 2022 Head in the Clouds Festival this August at Brookside at the Rose Bowl. Emerging pop singer/songwriter Stela Cole has released her anthemic new single “Rhapsody In Pink” via Ultra Records, a glammed-up and gritty track about knowing your self-worth. An audacious pop-come-hiphop interpolation of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody In Blue,” the track  spotlights Stela’s creativity and versatility, using stunning and confident vocals over glorious bursts of horns, steady claps, and bass-heavy beats.

“‘Rhapsody In Pink’ is so much more than a song to me. It’s a work of art. It has completely transformed my vision as an artist, and I feel more authentic than ever,” shares Stela. “I wrote the song about knowing your worth, especially as a woman, and I love how it’s fun and playful but also sends the message that I won’t be fucked around with.”

 

On how the song came to be, she continues, “I have been scheming the song for over five years now. I grew up loving George Gershwin, and his piece ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ is one of my favorite compositions of all time. One night back in 2016, I was watching Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby and it was playing at the party scene where they first introduced Jay Gatsby. I had just gotten into writing music, and it sparked this insane epiphany. I thought to myself, ‘how has nobody flipped ‘Rhapsody in Blue?!’’ I stored the idea and kept it in my notes for years until 2020 when it went into public domain, but I still wanted to wait for the right energy, and I needed to be the most confident version of myself to pull off the lyrical concept I was envisioning. Flash forward to November 2021, I met producer Alex Veronneau and knew he was my guy. I had gone through a breakup and was feeling like the most empowered, independent version of myself. It was the perfect combination. Alex and I stayed up till 4AM one night writing ‘Rhapsody In Pink’ and it came together effortlessly. I left the studio feeling so complete. I’d finally written my dream song.”

Warren Hue Rlease Debut Album Boy Of The Year

Jakarta native Warren Hue releases his debut album, BOY OF THE YEAR. BOY OF THE YEAR is a sonically complex body of work, dabbling in both hip hop and electronic music, with sprinkles of pop throughout.  The album sees the city of Los Angeles through Warren’s eyes, told through genre-blending sounds and lyrical complexities. It’s his personal account of moving away from Indonesia, pursuing his dreams in music, and the challenging obstacles and vibrant triumphs he experienced being in a new city.

 

The album release comes alongside a dynamic music video for "IN MY BAG" with Tobi Lou - WATCH HERE. "IN MY BAG" is bouncy and transcendent, assisted by a poetic verse from Tobi Lou. The two artists blend seamlessly on the experimental hip hop track.
