17 Year-old Singer-songwriter FERN. Releases His Debut E.P.

Wunderkind musician Fern. has launched his self-titled debut E.P. ‘Fern.’ last March 30, 2018.

The 17 year-old singer-songwriter-producer having only been active on the scene for a few months has already garnered multiple achievements. His first single ‘Into You,’ debuted and stayed at #1 on the Spotify Philippines Top 50 Viral Chart for one week, and has garnered over 1.5 million plays on Spotify. ‘Into You,’ along with his latest single ‘Wanna Dance With You’ have both been included by Spotify in playlists in countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines. On top of this, Fern. has been featured on Scout Magazine’s 'Teens Under 18 To Watch Out For In 2018,’ and has already been given opportunities to collaborate with young OPM artists such as Asia’s Pop Sweetheart Julie Anne San Jose, TALA, and Claudia Barretto.

Following ABS-CBN’s landmark victory in a legal battle at the tail end of December 2017 against 32 websites that illegally reproduced and distributed its content,

RJ Agustin Signs With Star Music Records

It is a remarkable day for singer, recording artist and actor RJ Agustin. Last January 24, 2018, he signed an exclusive contract for top music label, Star Music Philippines.  He is one of the artists who will be managed by the said recording label giant this 2018.

RJ Agustin began singing at a young age but initially pursued acting in films and television because as he claims, “Nasa dugo ko talaga ang pagiging artist” as he is also the son of 80s director Arturo “Boy” San Agustin who directed Robin Padilla and FPJ back in the days. RJ appeared in films like the award-winning Cinemalaya film 1st Ko Si 3rd and in the 2016 MMFF film Kabisera where he played Nora Aunor’s son. For RJ, singing is more than a hobby, it is his passion. He began his singing career in out-of-town and bar gigs.

ABS-CBN Global’s Aileen Paredes Joins as Speaker at 8th Asian Side of the Doc in Bangkok

 In an effort to become the hub of documentaries in Southeast Asia in accordance with government policy to promote creative businesses, Bangkok, Thailand played host from January 30 to February 2 to the 8th edition of Asian Side of the Doc (ASD), the international marketplace for factual programming in Asia.

ABS-CBN Global’s Female Specialty Channels Unit Head Aileen Paredes was one of the speakers on the first day in the panel on “ASEAN: What Does the Market Want?”. The premise of the session was that the content market in Southeast Asia has become more and more international in flavor and sophisticated in terms of taste. Localization of international formats, especially in the lifestyle and factual entertainment arena, has played a part in up-skilling the industry in some sectors, but is this true of documentary?

Neocolors Signs With Universal Records

One of the biggest names in the OPM scene, Neocolours, will finally release new songs this year. To jumpstart this awaited music launch, the band signed up today with its record label, Universal Records. Universal Records’ top executives led by VP Ramon Chuaying , General Manager, Kathleen Dy-Go and Operations Manager, Peter Chan welcomed the members of the band during the contract signing.

Neocolours' songs have been a mainstay of many Filipino listener's playlist. Their songs such as Maybe, Kasalanan Ko Ba, Hold On, Say You'll Never Go and Tuloy Pa Rin have transcended generational barriers and repeatedly re-recorded by some of the country's top recording artists. With the release of new songs starting this March, the band hopes to continue this artistic and musical tradition. Aside from the completion of a new album, Neocolours' other music activities includes a 30th year anniversary show at the Music Museum on April 28, as well as a national tour for the rest of the year.
