FDCP presents Philippine delegation at Cannes Marché du Film 2024

In line with its mandate to promote Philippine cinema to global audiences and provide continuous support to promising Filipino talents, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) presents the Philippine delegation at Marché du Film happening alongside the 77th Cannes Film Festival from May 14-25, 2024.

The FDCP provides support to Filipino filmmakers and production companies in showcasing their films and projects at Marché du Film, where Filipino delegates can cultivate connections within the international film industry.

The Philippines is also represented by visionary Filipino films, projects, and filmmakers at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

HBO Releases New Images From Season Two Of The Original Drama Series The Last Of Us

New images of Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie from the second season of the HBO Original drama series The Last Of Us were unveiled today by Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and Max Content, during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation. Following a record-breaking first season as the most-watched debut season of a series ever for HBO, the second season will debut in 2025.   

Season two returning cast includes Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria. Previously announced new cast includes Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny. Catherine O’Hara also guest stars. 

DUNE: Part Two Begins Streaming on HBO GO On May 21

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ Dune: Part Two will make its streaming debut on HBO GO on May 21. The big-screen epic continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed bestseller Dune with returning and new stars, including Oscar® nominee Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar® nominee Josh Brolin, Oscar® nominee Austin Butler, Oscar® nominee Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Oscar® winner Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, Souheila Yacoub, with Stellan Skarsgård, with Oscar® nominee Charlotte Rampling, and Oscar® winner Javier Bardem.

FX, Disney+, and the James Cavell Estate Are Working To Create More Seasons of the Critically Acclaimed Global Hit “Shōgun”

FX’s most watched show ever “Shōgun” will likely yield two additional seasons, intending the story and characters to continue the saga 

FX, Disney+ and the Estate of James Clavell are working to extend the critically acclaimed global hit drama Shōgun, moving forward to develop the saga with two additional seasons of the drama series. 

The show’s key creative partners including Co-Creators, Executive Producers and Writers Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo, Executive Producer Michaela Clavell, and series star and producer Hiroyuki Sanada are on board for the development. Production timing has not been locked in, but a writers’ room is being assembled and will begin this summer.

Industry association pays tribute to founders, launches 3-year events series countdown to 50 years of self-regulation

At ceremonies held at the Makati Diamond Residences, 22 individuals were given the highest industry honors by the Ad Standards Council in celebration of their role in paving the way for the country’s advertising industry to take the reins and lead itself. In short, liberating the industry to create and operate using self-regulating guidelines.

Do you know that the ad you just saw underwent a process to make sure it’s fair, factual and fit for public consumption? In the Philippines, advertising runs on self-regulation. Advertising adheres to guidelines that promote fair-trade practices, presents substantiated claims, and protects the rights of consumer. Advertising undergoes a certification process as proof it is fit to show consumers, administered by the Ad Standards Council.

Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz star in BACK IN ACTION, premiering November 15

On Wednesday, May 15th at 1pm PT, Netflix debuted the first-look photos and launch date for its upcoming action film, Back in Action. The film stars real-life friends Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, who shared how excited they are about their new project together:
