Internationally acclaimed Quezon’s Game rolling out across Asia Pacific in February

A history long forgotten. A tale of leadership that brought sanctuary to WWII refugees from another end of the world. And the man who made it all possible.

Internationally acclaimed “Quezon’s Game” via TFC will hold its Australian premiere at the Sydney Jewish Museum on February 26, 2020. Regular screening begins in Brunei on February 6th, as well as in Australia and New Zealand on February 27th.

Once forgotten to history, ABS-CBN Films’ Quezon’s Game, in association with iWant and Kinetek, tells the powerful story of leadership and what one man can accomplish when defeat isn’t an option. Based on a true story of heroism during World War II in the Philippines by Filipino President Manuel L. Quezon who rescued as many persecuted Jews as Oskar Schindler at a time when most countries were turning their backs. He struggled and succeeded in welcoming folks from the other side of the world, thereby creating an enduring friendship between Filipinos and Jews – a true epitome of our humanity.

Eric Chou captures the Filipino audience with “Room For You”

Over the past few years, Taiwanese superstar Eric Chou has achieved mainstream success in major Mandopop markets in the region.

With a string of multi-platinum albums and hit singles that consistently topped streaming charts, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter has been anointed by the Taiwanese media as the “king of lovelorn people”—a title bestowed to the renowned balladeer for his masterful interpretation of emotionally affecting songs.

Despite his popularity as a ballad singer, Chou has recently experimented with EDM and urban music to diversify his catalog. Songs like “Nobody But Me,” “Shutter in Love,” and “Let It Go” showcase a more eclectic foray into pop, R&B and electronic music. These songs were written in English, aimed to capture a new audience outside of Mandopop.

Critically acclaimed Filipino film “Quezon’s Game” screening in EU, to premiere via ‘film in concert’ event

More than eight decades ago, the then President Manuel L. Quezon opened the Philippine shores to about 1,200 Jewish refugees who are escaping from the wrath of the Nazis—a part of the Philippine history that is unknown to many but is made realized by the film “Quezon’s Game”.

“Quezon’s Game”, which was produced by ABS-CBN Films Star Cinema in association with iWant and Kinetek, is a film that tells the story of how Philippine President Manuel Quezon, future U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower, and several other notable figures set out to rescue Jewish refugees from the ghettos of Germany and Austria. What seems within their power at first, turns out to be fraught with astronomical obstacles. On top of this, Quezon must battle a relapse of tuberculosis. In his final days, Quezon asks the question "Could I have done more?" before recollecting one of the least known, but most uplifting stories in Philippine history.
