From doing covers to going mainstream... Agsunta Drops All-Original EP "Feels Trip"

From gaining significant attention online for their viral song covers, Pinoy pop rock band

Agsunta has now come full circle, welcoming 2020 with their now completed all-original EP, "Feels Trip," produced under DNA Music.

The EP, which includes six original tracks namely, "Bagong Umaga," "Alas Dose," "Kung 'Di Na Ako," "Liwanag," "Lokomotor," and "Hayskul Hits"-came after the band signed with the record label last year, after a brief hiatus from the limelight.

TFC’s “Kapamilya Reunion 2019” gives tribute to OF group “Unsung Heroes” from HK

Families of Hong Kong-based foreign workers celebrated the Christmas season with their loved ones in a tearful thanksgiving at TFC’s “Kapamilya Reunion 2019”, held annually as a way to give back to Overseas Filipinos by reuniting them with their loved ones.

For the year 2019, in celebration of TFC’s 25th anniversary, instead of virtually reuniting them with their loved ones, the gathering has become more intimate and memorable with select members of Hong Kong-based choir Unsung Heroes flying to the Philippines for a three-day affair. It began with the customary “Salu-salo” (banquet reception) held at the iconic 9501 Restaurant where most functions with the Kapamilya stars and executive officials are being held, which is inside the ABS-CBN Compound in Quezon City, Philippines.

TFC launches first original comedy content via “Stand Up for Laughs”

Welcome the new decade with lots of fun and laughter with TFC’s latest offering, “Stand Up for Laughs”, which can be seen for FREE by all registered users outside the Philippines via TFC Online and in the Philippines via iWant starting today, January 17.

“Stand Up for Laughs” is an eight-episode stand-up comedy series which is TFC’s first venture into producing content under the comedy genre.

“We are excited to launch not only our first comedy series but also a fresh batch of comedians who turn to humor to raise awareness about the lives of the Filipinos abroad and some parts of our culture that is uniquely Filipino,” said Global Content Head Ned Legaspi.

Bringing non-stop laughter while featuring some scenarios in the lives of the Filipinos abroad are stand-up comedians lead and directed by Laugh Factory’s Funniest Person in the World 2016 finalist Alex Calleja, with GB Labrador, Orca, Winer Aguilar, Nicki Morena, Clark Llaga, Ramon Cabochan, and Yuki.

“We wrote our own materials,” Calleja relates. “Kasi ang stand-up comedy is based on your experience, e. Pero ito lumabas kami sa comfort zone namin, nilagayan ng konting storytelling na hindi lumalayo sa reality.”

Christmas comes early for Filipinos in Malaysia as TFC and DZMM Teleradyo bring signature Kapamilya public service and entertainment

Filipinos in Malaysia packed the iconic Kompleks Kraf recently to join the Christmas festivities especially mounted for the community. The Philippine Embassy and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration brings anew the Pamaskong Kat-OWWA-an (Christmas Merriment) to enliven the spirits of those who are not able to come home and be with their families during the holidays. 

A notable addition for this year’s celebrations is the “Kapamilya Love Weekend Goes to Asia” – a campaign that goes around the continent offering free services and entertainment to overseas Filipinos. TFC in partnership with DZMM Teleradyo gifted nearly 1,200 hardworking Pinoys – who are usually on the other end of offering their services – with a free massage, haircut, Zumba session, as well as medical and skincare advice from Dra. Bles Salvador of the DZMM program “Dra. Bles @ Ur Serbis” and Dra. Luisa Ticzon-Puyat of the DZMM program “Good Vibes”.

PANSIN Project founder Dr. Antonio Moya visits ABS-CBN office in Manila, explores a future partnership with ABS-CBN TFC

Filipino-American neurologist and founder of Pilipino AmericaN Stroke InterventioN (PANSIN) project Dr. Antonio Moya (second from the right) visited the ABS-CBN office in Manila where he was warmly welcomed by (L-R) ABS-CBN Global Content Production Heads Aileen Paredes and Herbs Samonte, ABS-CBN Global Multiplatform Content Management & Operations Head Amabel Acosta, and GCA & PR Specialist Joyce Jimenez. Advocating to promote better public health awareness to Filipino Americans, Asian Pacific Islanders and Filipinos globally, Dr. Moya had a meeting with the Content team of ABS-CBN TFC to explore future partnership projects that could reach and educate a wider range of audiences. Currently, PANSIN Project partnered with ABS-CBN TFC to air on TFC a five-minute video to raise awareness about stroke, which is especially rampant during the holiday season. In season 2, as a late bloomer Otis must master his newly discovered sexual urges in order to progress with his girlfriend Ola whilst also dealing with his now strained relationship with Maeve. Meanwhile, Moordale Secondary is in the throes of a Chlamydia outbreak, highlighting the need for better sex education at the school and new kids come to town who will challenge the status quo.
